About Melissa Hagan
A former a Top Five finalist and talent winner in Miss
Mississippi America 1985, she’s held the titles for
Mississippi Cinderella Teen, Miss Mississippi University for
Women, Mrs. Alaska America, Mrs. Alaska United States, and
Mrs. Florida International. Melissa also received the
coveted Joan Orr Air Force Spouse of the Year Award. This
national award recognizes the spouses of military members
for their service to the Air Force and the local community.
With a Masters Degree in Education earned in 1999, she has
since been accepted into a doctoral degree program. Melissa believes education
is one of the greatest gifts life has to offer, and that
family literacy creates a legacy of learning and is
currently the Literacy Chairman for the Panama City Women’s
Club, an advocate for the Just Read Florida and
Books for Babies projects and supporter of the National
Center for Family Literacy.
Melissa and her husband Aaron feel that the foundation of
family, faith and service to others is what makes families
strong and America great. They take great joy in ministering
to other couples on keeping a marriage healthy through
faith-based activities. They serve together as Marriage
Enrichment group coordinators through their church in Lynn
Haven, Florida.
